“The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever.”

—JACQUES COUSTEAU

The natural beauty of the sea has been a source of inspiration for artists, poets and authors for centuries. Where else can one find such a diverse variety of color, light and textures, plant and animal life? This diversity and vastness allows for endless exploration and interpretation. In my photography, I seek not to capture the perfect beachside scene or idyllic lighthouse. Instead I prefer to focus my lens on the details or ingredients that make the sea so special to me.

The way the light hits the water could change from minute to minute, creating dazzling patterns that seem to speak their own visual language. And the closer I look, the more I see. My macro photographs seek to explore the infinite details of this seaside world, and share a glimpse of its rich beauty which may have otherwise gone unnoticed.
